Please Note: If applying for a Provincial, Western Canadian or National grant the application must include a letter, on letterhead, from the governing sport body confirming the event as a bona-fide championship. If no documentation is provided an Invitational Tournament Capital Grant will be issued.
Tournament Capital grants will be approved by the Tournament Capital Grant Committee. Grants will be reviewed and approved for payment on a quarterly basis. Applicants should apply within three months of event date. Any additional information which you feel will assist the Tournament Capital Grant Committee may be attached.
PLEASE NOTE: As of January 1, 2017, applications are to be dropped off at the Kamloops Sports Council office, 262 Lorne Street (across from Sandman Hotel and the Sandman Centre, at the corner of 3rd Ave and Lorne Street). Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 pm, but a mail slot is available 24/7. For information call 250-828-3822.
KidSport provides families with children aged of 5 - 18 with financial assistance to participate in sports in Kamloops.
KidSport Funds will be utilized for uniforms, gear/equipment required for sport and registration fees. For example: baseball leagues, gymnastic clubs, track and field clubs, hockey and swim clubs. Annual grants range up to $500, depending on the nature of the application. Award maximums are per child per year.
Applications are reviewed monthly (dates not always the same) so please submit 4 - 6 weeks in advance to allow time for processing.

APPLICANTS PLEASE NOTE: Applications MUST be dropped off in a SEALED envelope. Photocopying services are not provided. Sealed envelopes can be left at the Tournament Capital Centre Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services office, 2nd floor. 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. All questions should be directed by email to the KidSport Kamloops Committee.
In your cover letter, details such as marital status, employment status, # of children and whether or not you own or rent your home are all very helpful things for the Committee when considering your application.
