A six-lane, 200m track and two hardwood FIBA certified courts are two of the highlights. Another is the capacity seating for about 2500 people between the fixed and mobile stands. The room itself is the size of three NHL Hockey rinks (65,000 square feet).
Large curtains can be drawn to separate courts from each other or used as partitions.
The men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams at Thompson Rivers University use the Fieldhouse for games and training. The Kamloops Track and Field Club can now conduct full winter training in one place. Other users now incorporate winter dryland training into their workouts. Other track and field features are a throws bunker for discus, hammer and shot put and proper pole vault and jumps areas.
Spacious, airy, and bright, the Field House so impressed BC Gymnastics that after staging the 2007 BC Gymnastics Championships in the Fieldhouse, Kamloops was awarded the right to host the 2008 championships. Friendly matches between the Canadian and Israeli national women's tennis teams opened the building in the spring of 2007. Recent events include the 2010 World Masters Indoor Track and Field Championships, 2010 National Gymnastics CHampionships, the 2010 Canadian Inter-university men's volleyball championships, and Basketball and Volleyball to be held during the 2011 Western Canada Summer Games.
Spacious locker rooms, washrooms, meeting rooms, athlete training and workout areas, concession and electronic score clock are other features. The building is wheelchair accessible.
